Three Rivers 12k

The Three Rivers 12k is closing in fast. The date for this year’s event is May 26th. The race will begin at 8:30am from Indiana Tech. The course will be the same as 2006, so you will be able to gauge your improvement from last year. Online registration is available from our website at http://www.3riversrunning.com/TR12k2007.htm. Paper registration forms are available at the store and the Fort Wayne Track Club web site (www.fwtc.org) as well. Feel free to discuss the 12k race in person at the store or via email. We look forward to hosting another exciting event and appreciate your support. Once again, Indiana Tech, Mizuno, Indiana Physical Therapy, and Fort Wayne Track Club are integral parts of the event. Fort Wayne Police Department will provide course control and security. The Three Rivers 12k is part of the FWTC points series and the News Sentinal Running Series.

New Arrivals

At this point of the year, many of the changes to shoes are only color updates. However, Asics, Brooks, and Adidas have decided to toss out some brand new models for the summer. The new Asics Nimbus 9 and Cumulus 9 are due to arrive in early May. If you are looking for a highly competitive racing flat for distances from 5k to 10k, the Brooks T5 and the Adidas adiZero PR are the shoes for you.

For those parents out there who want to take their young children with them on their summer runs, we now carry the Baby Jogger. It has a quick release system for easy folding and storage. It also has a front break for stopping in a hurry.

We also have the Saucony Red Laces. Proceeds from the Red Laces benefit the Saucony Run for Good Foundation, a program designed to fight childhood obesity. Laces are only $1.00.

Tired of buying individual GU packets? Stop in a check out our new 6 pack and 18 pack boxes. They are cheaper than buying individual packets.  Another new accessory arrival is the Nathan Shoe Pocket +.  This is the Nathan Shoe Pocket, resized to carry the Nike + Ipod speed/distance chip.

Three Rivers Running - FILA

The recently formed TRR-Fila team has had some great success so far this spring. Casey Shafer ran 2:35:58 at the Saint Louis Marathon on April 15th to place 4th overall. Mitch Novy won the Durbin Classic 10k on April 14th in 33:50 and followed that up with a new 10,000m PR at Hillsdale College on April 27th in 33:43.2. Eric Ade also competed at Hillsdale College in the 10,000m and established a new PR of 31:00.1. Finally, Matt Blume of TRR-Fila competed in the 5,000m run at Hillsdale on April 28th (at roughly 1:00am) and finished with a fine time of 15:14.5. Next up for TRR-Fila, Eric Ade and Mark Doepner will compete in the Indianapolis Mini-Marathon on May 5th.
