Spring Updates

New and updated shoe models have started to arrive here at Three Rivers Running Company.  One of the quick-movers out of the gate has been Pearl Izumi’s all-new Pace.  This model is a mild to moderate stability shoe utilizing Pearl’s Synchro S Frame to guide the foot through the gait cycle.  As with other Pearl Izumi’s shoe, the upper is virtually seamless and provides a comfortably snug fit.

The update Asics Kayano 12 has also started out well.  With this 12th version, Asics has replaced the SPEVA midsole composition with a lighter composition called SoLyte.  This new midsole material contributes to a much lighter shoe—for example, a women’s 8.5 in the Kayano 12 is a full ounce lighter than a women’s 8.5 in the previous Kayano 11.  For fans of the Kayano 11, though, we do have just a few shoes (men’s and women’s) left over at a reduced price.

Another notable update is the Puma Heras 3.  Versus the Heras 2, the updated model has a bit more of a midsole—yielding a more cushioned shoe, especially in the forefoot.  As a result, though, the new model does not have quite as low of a profile as the Heras 2 and is about ¾ of an ounce heavier.  For those preferring the profile and weight of version 2, we have kept some stock in that model alongside the updated Heras 3.  Even with the added weight, this shoe is still a great performance trainer/racer.

New Additions

Though it is not a brand new model for Brooks, the Dyad is a new addition to our wall.  The Brooks Dyad is a uniquely constructed shoe.  This model is a neutral cushioned, linear platform, large interior volume shoe.  The Dyad is a great shoe for the low arch to flat-footed—but neutral—runner.  Not everyone that is flat-footed necessarily needs a motion control shoe; this shoe fits the bill for those individuals with low to flat arches, who do not need a lot of control for overpronation.  With its wide base and large interior volume, the Dyad also works well for individuals who need a neutral shoe to work in conjunction with orthotics.

Track and Field

Attention track athletes, parents, and coaches: spring 2006 spike scheduled shipments have been completed.  We currently have a very diverse offering from sprint spikes up through elite-level long distance spikes.  Adidas, Asics, Brooks, Mizuno, New Balance, and Puma are all represented in selected models.

Coaches, contact us by phone or email (email links are on the staff page of our web site) for inquiries on team evenings here at the store.  Josh Brunson or Casey Shafer can get dates and times coordinated with you and your athletes for these events.
